Stephen Hamilton
I began photographing people as a high school student in 1984, and went on to earn my BFA in photography in 1990. Since that time, I have displayed my fine art photography and painting in galleries throughout Portland and Salt Lake City. I created Remembrance Photography in 1991 to offer a more artistic, natural, and modern alternative to the more traditional portrait and wedding studio. I believe in bringing my artistic background and experience to every wedding I photograph. My passion with photography is to catch people's real personalities, and a glimpse into a day of their lives, in this case, their wedding day! Since 1991 our company has grown to include three photographers and up to 100 weddings a year. |

Ilana Hamilton
I joined Remembrance Photography in 2001 as Stephen’s assistant and soon began photographing weddings, portraits, and food on my own as well as facilitating the studio’s transition from film to digital. Stephen and I were married in 2004. Since the birth of our daughter, Rowan, I have retired from shooting and now work as the studio’s album designer (our custom coffee-table books are my creations) in addition to my duties as a full-time mom! |

Masonia Wallin
My draw to wedding photography actually began at my own wedding. Although my pictures were technically fine, the content of them was, well, boring. The two pictures that turned out best were both spontaneous moments that the photographer just happened to snap off hand (we had spent hours just posing for formals). These two photos sparked in me the idea that wedding photography could be more than just formals. It could be interesting and artistic as well.
I met Stephen in 1998 and was excited to find another photographer with the same vision: wedding photography that tells the whole story, a photojournalistic journey of the day. After apprenticing with him for that first year, I fell in love with being a wedding photographer. I then started shooting weddings for
Remembrance Photography in 1999. The best part of it all is that I really enjoy my job. I get to incorporate my passion for photography with the fun and excitement of a wedding. And for me, that's a perfect combination. |

Andy Orenstein
I first became interested in photography while teaching preschool. I was using photography to document how the children were interacting with the curriculum and with each other. I had many parents compliment me on how well I was able to capture the personalities of their children. As a result of their encouragement, I began studying photography and became fascinated with fine art photography. To further my immersion in photography I began working in a photo lab, where I printed many wedding pictures. I was surprised by how bland many of the photos were. I knew that I could provide more compelling photos if I applied my fine art training to photographing weddings. For over six years I have been doing just that, and having a great time, too. |
